Intact Foundation
The Whitecaps Foundation was pleased to share the kick off of the Whitecaps Women’s Soccer Series with Intact Foundation, formerly ING Foundation. Intact is a major supporter of the Soccer Series, having made a generous donation of $5,000 to the program. Community and donor support is critical to the long-term success of girl’s and women’s soccer. The Whitecaps partnered this year with the Girls Metro Soccer League to help grow the sport and ensure that girls and women have access to the resources they need to achieve their dreams. Donors like Intact are helping to make that happen, while at the same time, strengthening communities with accessible, exciting programming like the Soccer Series.
The first of the three matches was played to a 1:1 draw at Mercer Stadium in New Westminster to the cheers of a large and energetic crowd of 1076 spectators. The next match will take place on the Whitecaps Women’s home pitch on Canada Day against the Ventura County Fusion.
