Tina Osen Nominated for Women of Influence Award

September 29, 2009

The Whitecaps Foundation is pleased to announce that Tina Osen, a great supporter of and advocate for both the club and the Foundation, has been selected as a Deloitte Women of Influence finalist.

The Whitecaps Foundation is pleased to announce that Tina Osen, President and CEO of HUB Interational has been selected as a Deloitte Women of Influence finalist. Tina has been a great supporter of and advocate for both the club and the Foundation – she has helped to raise nearly $30,000 for the women’s program this year in support of the inaugural Whitecap Women’s Soccer Series.

Tina has played a large role in the successful development of the Net Works committee, a group of dedicated Vancouver business people working to advance the cause of women in sport. As British Columbia’s only sports franchise with a top-level women’s program, the Whitecaps are investing in a significant community asset and contributing immensely to the growth of the women’s game. Net Works is critical to helping fund these amateur athletes and important role models, as well as to highlight the role of women in sport and their on and off-pitch contributions to our community.

We congratulate Tina on this very deserved nomination and hope you will join the Foundation in recognizing her tireless work by voting for her. To learn more about the three amazing women up for this Award, including Tina Osen, we encourage you to visit the Women of Influence website and vote to determine this year’s winner.

The Deloitte Women of Influence is a program which provides women with a forum to share their experiences and gain support and inspiration from each other.  Started in Toronto in 1994, the program can be found in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Waterloo, Ottawa, Montreal, and Halifax.
